Performance Upgrade
Grade 10 Final Semester

Personalized weekly support to upgrade grades from 70-85% to 90-95%+ during the critical Grade 10 semester—when your transcript starts counting for university applications.

21 weeks · February to July 2026
Individual sessions + continuous diagnostic analysis aligned with IB MYP/DP curriculum

What Is This Program

A structured 21-week intervention designed to close invisible gaps and elevate academic performance during Grade 10—the first year that officially counts on your university transcript.

📊 For Students Currently Scoring 70-85%

The gap between “good” (70-85%) and “excellent” (90-95%+) isn’t about studying more hours— it’s about identifying and fixing invisible micro-gaps in comprehension, application, and test execution.

This program uses weekly diagnostic analysis of your actual schoolwork to pinpoint exactly what’s preventing you from reaching top grades—then systematically fixes those gaps.

How It Works: Weekly Cycle

Each week follows a proven diagnostic cycle that identifies gaps and fixes them before they compound

1

Monday-Wednesday: Targeted Practice

You receive a customized practice set (approximately 1-1.5 hours of work) aligned with your current IB curriculum (Math, Sciences, Economics, etc) and based on the materials you provided. These exercises target specific gaps identified in previous week’s analysis. Complete and submit digitally (via scan or tablet).

2

Wednesday Afternoon: Diagnostic Analysis

Before your live session, I analyze every answer—not just marking “right/wrong,” but classifying error types (conceptual gaps, interpretation issues, calculation mistakes, timing problems). This creates your personalized gap map for the week.

3

Wednesday 5pm: Live Session (50 min)

First 10 min: Review diagnostic findings—what worked, what needs attention
Next 30 min: Close critical gaps identified this week with targeted explanations and examples
Final 10 min: Align on next week’s focus areas based on upcoming school content

4

Thursday-Sunday: School Integration

Apply techniques learned in session to actual school assignments and tests. WhatsApp support available for urgent questions or last-minute clarifications before exams.

“Before the Rain”

Why Grade 10 is your critical window for transcript excellence

🎯 The Grade 10-11 Reality

Grade 9: Practice year. Grades don’t appear on official transcript.
Grade 10-11: OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT YEARS. Universities see these grades.
Grade 12: Too late to “fix” a weak GPA. Decisions already being made.

⚡ The “Before the Rain” Window

Grade 10 is the last chance to build a strong GPA foundation before the pressure of Grade 11 (when universities start looking) and Grade 12 (when it’s too late to change much).

Think of it like weatherproofing your house before the storm hits— not during or after.

📈 Your Specific Situation (Grade 10 IB DP)

You’re entering IB Diploma Programme right now. The next 2 years (Grade 10-11) determine your official transcript.

Closing invisible gaps now means:

  • Stronger GPA throughout entire DP
  • Better preparation for IB exams (Grade 11-12)
  • Competitive transcript for top universities
  • Less stress in Grade 11 (foundation already solid)

💡 Bottom line: Grade 10 is when “good students” (70-85%) separate into “excellent students” (90-95%+). The difference isn’t talent or hours studied—it’s identifying and fixing the invisible gaps that prevent top performance.

🎯 SAT Preparation: Grade 10 is the Ideal Start

For students targeting Ivy League+ universities, SAT preparation should ideally begin in Grade 10, not Grade 11.

Why?

  • PSAT/NMSQT: Administered in October of Grade 11 (College Board schedule). Starting prep in Grade 10 gives you a full year to build solid foundations.
  • First SAT: Typically taken in Spring of Grade 11 (March/May). Grade 10 preparation ensures you’re not rushing fundamentals.
  • Score improvement cycles: Multiple test dates allow iterative improvement. Starting Grade 10 = 2-3 test cycles before college apps.
  • Avoid Grade 11 overload: Grade 11 is academically intense (IB DP exams, AP courses). Starting SAT prep earlier prevents burnout.

This program (Performance Upgrade) focuses on closing school gaps first. Once your Grade 10 foundation is solid (90-95%+ consistently), transitioning to dedicated SAT preparation becomes much more efficient.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials do I need to provide in Week 1?

Complete school documentation is essential for maximum precision. Please bring:

Required:

  • Full ManageBac access (current courses, syllabus, grades)
  • Exam schedule (all upcoming tests, assessments, IAs)
  • Past tests and quizzes (last 6 months minimum)
  • Current curriculum outline (IB MYP/DP subject guides)
  • Any graded assignments with teacher feedback

Important: The quality of diagnostic analysis depends directly on having complete materials. If materials are incomplete, exercise sets will be based on generic IB curriculum rather than your specific school’s approach, which reduces precision in gap identification.

What if I can’t provide all past tests from my school?

That’s okay—we’ll work with what you have. However, understand that:

With complete school materials: Diagnostic precision is maximized. Exercise sets target your school’s specific question styles, difficulty levels, and teacher expectations.

Without complete materials: We use standard IB MYP/DP curriculum materials from other schools. This still works well, but may miss some nuances specific to your teachers’ assessment style.

Bottom line: More materials = more precise gap identification = faster improvement.

What subjects are covered?

All IB MYP/DP subjects as needed: Mathematics, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Economics, Language & Literature, etc. Sessions adapt to your current school curriculum and upcoming assessments.

Is this online or in-person?

Online via Zoom. This allows flexible scheduling and ensures we can maintain the Wednesday 5pm time slot consistently throughout the semester.

What if I need to miss a session?

Rescheduling policy (per EDP cancellation policy):

  • 24+ hours notice: Free rescheduling within same week (subject to availability)
  • Less than 24h notice: Session is deducted from your package
  • Medical emergency with doctor’s note: Guaranteed rescheduling regardless of notice period

Rescheduling limit: Up to 25% of contracted sessions during program validity (5 out of 21 weeks = ~5 reschedules max). Beyond this limit, rescheduling depends on availability with no guarantee. Medical emergencies with documentation don’t count toward this limit.

Can I pause the program during school breaks?

Yes. According to EDP policy:

Programmed breaks: Up to 4 cumulative weeks per semester with 48h notice
School recesses: July and December/January breaks don’t consume validity

For this 21-week program (Feb-Jul), we already have 1 built-in break (Carnival week). Additional pauses can be arranged if needed within policy limits.

Do I need a Wacom tablet or special equipment?

No purchase required. If you already have an iPad or tablet with stylus, that works perfectly. If not, I’ll provide a Wacom tablet on loan for the duration of the program. This makes submitting practice work much easier than scanning.

How quickly will I see grade improvements?

Most students see measurable improvement within 4-6 weeks as we close critical gaps. However, the goal isn’t just “quick wins”—it’s building sustainable excellence throughout Grade 10 and beyond. Expect steady, progressive improvement rather than overnight transformation.

What happens after the 21 weeks?

The primary outcome: Complete clarity.

After 21 weeks, you’ll have a crystal-clear diagnostic map of exactly where you stand:

  • Which gaps have been closed (and are now solid)
  • Which areas still need reinforcement
  • Your readiness level for SAT preparation
  • Specific recommendations for Grade 11 trajectory

Natural next step: Most students continue with structured support because they’ve experienced the difference between “studying harder” and “studying with precision.”

Typical pathways:

  • Grade 11 continuation: Maintain school performance while beginning SAT foundations (starting SAT prep in Grade 11 is imprudent—you’d be rushing fundamentals during your most academically intense year)
  • Hybrid model: Bi-weekly sessions (school + early SAT integration)
  • SAT transition: If school gaps are fully closed, shift to dedicated SAT preparation (Foundations → Sprint pathway)

We’ll discuss your specific situation in Week 18-19 (mid-June), giving you time to plan Grade 11 strategically rather than reactively.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, installments available:

  • Brazilian credit cards: Via InfinityPay
  • International credit cards: Via Stripe

Number of installments and fees depend on your card issuer. Contact us for specific payment arrangements.

What if I want to cancel before the program starts?

Cancellation before first session (per EDP policy):

48+ hours before Week 1: 100% refund
Less than 48 hours: 90% refund (10% administrative fee)
Within 7 days of online purchase: 100% refund (consumer protection right)

Request cancellation via contato@retarazao.com

What if I need to cancel after the program has started?

After program starts (per EDP policy):

No refund for weeks already started/contracted
• Unused weeks remain valid within program validity period
• You can pause (up to 4 weeks per semester with 48h notice)

Important: This is a commitment-based program designed for students serious about sustained improvement. Plan accordingly before enrolling.
